    The University of Oregon Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will provide an outstanding collegiate experience to our student-athletes while enabling them to pursue excellence in the classroom, the community and their lives while competing at the highest level in their chosen sport.

    Position Summary
    The Director of Operations manages the efficient operation of the lacrosse and volleyball office. Responsibilities include team travel; acting as liaison with department support services; assisting in the management of all aspects of lacrosse and volleyball camps and clinics; overseeing game day activities; and at the direction of lacrosse and volleyball coaching staff, assisting with the coordination of recruitment visits.

    The sport in season is the priority (Fall - Volleyball, Spring - Lacrosse). This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the PAC-12 Conference, and the NCAA.

    The director is supervised by the Head Lacrosse and Volleyball Coaches. Weekend and evening work hours may be required to ensure that all program needs are met.

    Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of experience working within Division I collegiate athletics

    Professional Competencies
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Administrative skills and the ability to motivate staff and volunteers to achieve administrative goals.
  • High motivation with a capacity for hard work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working as director of operations at a Division I, Power 5 athletic department.
  • Capacity to interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, etc) crucial to the advancement of the University of Oregon Department Of Athletics.
  • Candidates with experience serving the needs of diverse populations are strongly desired.
