About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Senior Director of Enrollment Management - Communications and Outreach for Enrollment Management holds overall responsibility and accountability to provide, establish, and evolve the E.M. strategies and infrastructure to serve the enrollment requirements for graduate and professional programs at all Northeastern's global campuses, including Boston, regional campuses in the USA, global campuses, including Toronto, Vancouver in Canada and in collaboration with the London campus in Europe.


The SD will be directly responsible for the oversight of the graduate enrollment management for 300+ bachelors completion programs, graduate certificates, master's programs, and professional doctorate programs including but not limited to domestic and international marketing, along with holistic funnel management of prospective students from lead to enrollment. Responsibilities will expand to include enrollment goals of domestic and international students each academic year in collaboration with colleges, campuses, and departments across the University.

The SD will manage, mentor and oversee the College Success Team responsible for stakeholder communications, college brand management and marketing assets, enrollment lifecycle numbers, marketing and recruitment strategy discussions and consistent reporting. In addition, the SD will oversee processes, and technologies to deliver the prospective student experience and support through the pre-enrollment cycle, funnel communication and nurture process each academic year with process compliance, yield management through matriculation, and working closely with enrollment analytics to support informed decision making.

The SD is expected to work effectively and build partnerships in a matrix organization, collaborating closely with the Office of Provost, Office of Chancellor, University Registrar, Office of General Counsel, colleges and college deans, regional campuses, and campus deans, Student Financial Services, online learning and other campus departments in executing overall goals for the E.M. unit and professional programs.


10-15 years working in a professional position, preferably in a communications, outreach, enrollment management, sales/coaching, admissions, advertising agency or similar environment. Must have at least 7-10 years supervisory experience; preferably experience with leading teams from various units. Must be able to think critically and provide creative yet strategic guidance on enrollment and retention-related matters. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Must have the ability to multi-task, organize, and work independently within a matrix organization. Must have a high level of customer service skills and attention to detail. Expected to have a strong and collaborative approach to managing relationships within complex environments. Occasional travel required.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in significant management roles in higher education, enrollment management, and/or marketing/communications are required.

  • Must have performed leadership roles for at least five years, overseeing communications, outreach, and recruitment efforts.

  • Operated as an organization leader who has hired, coached, mentored and managed multicultural teams.

  • The ability to lead and manage efforts that integrate the university's recruitment, outreach, and enrollment management goals.

  • The ability to build, manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across campus - leadership, administration, colleges, campuses, colleagues

  • The skill to engage diverse audiences, both internal and external, in the university mission, vision, programs and goals

  • Collaborative and data-driven decision-making capabilities

  • Strategic and creative insight with an ability to execute effective enrollment management and communications/outreach strategies

  • Knowledge of national and international trends and developments in student recruitment, enrollment management, yield and retention

  • Proven track record of successful strategic planning, excellent customer service, effective supervisory practice, and innovative approaches to optimizing resources to meet institutional goals and a standard of excellence of service delivery.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated creative and analytical abilities.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle a wide variety of job duties and prioritize based on business value
