Position Overview:

Directs and manages programs related to student academic planning, registration, and program completion. Designs and develops resources for students. This is a full-time, exempt position—Department Specific Essential Job Functions. The Assistant Director (AD) drives and advances Asia Pacific recruitment activities, focusing in South Korea, by providing tactical support, strategy, and development to the Office of Global Affairs Strategic Management Team and the University of Central Oklahoma. If the need arises, on occasions AD may be asked to visit other countries as well. The AD accomplishes this by providing input into enrollment forecasting, trip planning, and budgeting for UCO marketing activities in Asia Pacific, including when delegations visit. UCO develops, coordinates, and monitors outreach programs to undergraduate students for study abroad promotion Presents at partner universities in Asia Pacific and UCO. Travel is required approximately 25% of the time, including: domestically in South Korea, 4-6 weeks to other Asia Pacific countries, and travel to the United States for training and collaboration with the Office of Global Affairs at UCO. Provides leadership in evaluating and delivering prospective student outreach via social media and web platforms. Manages UCO educational agent relations and operations for key markets. Develop or work with OGA marketing team to develop presentation and marketing materials related to recruitment. Provides administrative and management support as needed. Provides the vision and leadership for the global competency aspect of transformative learning. Communicate UCOs mission and programs in a persuasive manner to government agencies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations. Some evening and weekend activities will be required. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in related field to the position plus 3+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years of equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Demonstrated application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results. Some knowledge of current marketing platforms, including Social Media.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

Master's Degree in a related field. Knowledge of International admissions and recruitment. Some knowledge of Korean and/or Vietnamese is helpful.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

The major duties of this job involve connecting quickly with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way. This job will entail working at an extremely fast pace while collaborating cooperatively with and motivating others to do their best in order to complete tasks. This will require understanding people well to effectively motivate them to identify and connect to the UCO mission. This job will require a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to get things done efficiently and correctly. The AD will also need to possess the following skills: Experience traveling overseas and demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultures. Excellent communication, both written and oral Maintain a positive professional image Excellent organizational skill with the ability to plan and coordinate events. Demonstrated strong ability to identify, analyze and solve multi-faceted problems.
