Position Summary:
The Department of Biochemistry seeks to hire a Teaching Faculty. This is an appointment to provide direct instruction, curricular development, and coordination of the teaching team for the operation of the Biochemistry Teaching Laboratory and the capstone course Biochemistry 551 (Biochemical Methods), to participate in leading Biochemistry 100 (Freshman seminar), and to contribute to our summer-session teaching.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Ph.D. in biochemistry or related discipline preferred, master's required.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Research experience in areas relevant to teaching a biochemistry lab course such as molecular biology techniques, protein biochemistry, enzyme assays, chromatographic and electrophoretic methods, instrumental analyses, and bioinformatic tools is required. An ability to work both independently and in a team environment and demonstrated skills in coordination of staff to meet deadlines is required. Prior experience in teaching and course development including using learning management systems such as Canvas and the development of digital teaching materials, knowledge of blended learning strategies and inclusive teaching approaches, strong written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with state-of-the-art software and hardware for data fitting, graphics preparation, and audio-visual presentation are highly desirable.
Additional Information:
Prefix will be determined at time of hire based on relevant experience. Prefixes will have the following minimum salaries:
Assistant: $40,000
Associate: $50,000
No Prefix: $60,000
