The General Manager of Dome Concessions will provide leadership, support and overall guidance to campus concessions operations at the Carrier Dome, soccer and softball stadiums. The General Manager will provide vision for the future of concessions in the Carrier Dome and create a strategic plan to work towards executing that vision. Qualifications
  • Eight (8) plus years of Food and Beverage Management experience in a sports or entertainment venue.
  • Experience managing a high volume operation.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members by speaking and comprehending English.
  • English reading, writing, math and computer skills required.
  • Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products.
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts.
  • Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, support and overall guidance to concession manager, supervisors and event staff. Direct and manage stadium and campus events.
  • Develop, train and supervise 3 exempt, 1 non-exempt office coordinator, 2 bargaining unit staff, 6-10 non- profit organizations, 300 student/temporary employees and 60 stadium vendors.
  • Create a vision for the future: review current trends and implement those that would be successful in the Carrier Dome.
  • Constantly challenge all parts of the current operation to determine where improvement can be found.
  • Financial management of the operating budget including identifying efficiencies and cost control measures in order to improve bottom line results.
  • Identify revenue enhancement opportunities such as new service concepts, expanded product offerings and incorporating the latest trends in food service.
  • Annual revenue budgeted is $7M. The largest single event generates approximately $600k.
  • Strategize with the Executive Director of Hospitality to plan, scope and budget major renovations and equipment purchases for Food Services.
  • Interact with various departments, committees, student organizations and alumni.
  • Work with community organizations to donate stadium event leftover food.
