Job Summary
We are encouraging applications for PostDoctoral Associate who will work in a team on implementing basic building blocks of scalable quantum information processing with mixed-species trapped ions.

Who We Are
PREP is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.
The particular group that needs a researcher is the Ion Storage Group under the Time and Frequency Division at NIST.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Work with team to upgrade existing apparatus, plan, implement and evaluate experiments on this apparatus, disseminate results of experiments through publication in journals and presentations.
What We Can Offer
The salary range is $66,000 - $74,000 and will be based on relevant background and experience.

What We Require
- PhD degree in physics or related field.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Experience in experimental design and carrying out experimental work in an atomic physics laboratory.
- Good understanding of laser technology and nonlinear frequency conversion.
