Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families ( IVMF ) needs to increase program enrollment coordinator positions, whose primary responsibility is to assist in the admissions and applications process for all prospective students who have inquired about a program at the IVMF, due to increased demand. It is the responsibility of these Enrollment Coordinators to organize the student enrollment process in accordance with all IVMF programs internal processes and sponsored-funding requirements. Additional duties include answering the phones, processing and managing accepted applications, and assisting the Director of Enrollment Management by working closely to meet enrollment goals. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) plus years of admissions and/or customer service experience.
  • Prior service in the United States military preferred.
  • Experience working with customer relations management systems preferred.
  • Experience working in IT industry preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Experience in military skill assessment and the translation of military experience into corporate skill sets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of establishing a courteous and professional rapport through distance communication tools.
  • Ability to maintain student records in a robust customer relations management system.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross functional, matrixed team environment.
  • Knowledge of various IT certifications or industry preferred.
  • Ability to work on a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to remain flexible under shifting priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Process incoming applications to all programs offered at the IVMF :
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for interested program applicants, working closely with each individual to provide polite and timely responses.
    • Screen applications to ensure eligibility requirements are met, all required documents are received and applications are complete.
    • Conduct informational interviews with participants to ensure their needs would be met by the program’s offerings and to refer to other programs as needed.


  • Manage the IVMF’s programs email and voicemail boxes to include:
    • Respond via phone and email to inquiries related to the Programs and Services offered at the IVMF .
    • Ensure all needs are addressed in a courteous, clear, and timely manner.
  • Assist the Director of Enrollment Management in ensuring continuous improvement of the admissions process based on applicant experience and feedback.
  • Provide quality assurance checks and escalate any heightened applicant concerns to the Director.
  • Other position-related duties as assigned.
