Job Summary
Teach a minimum of 18 – 21 contact hours of class, lab, simulation, and/or clinical per week of practical nursing courses, which may include Medical-Surgical Nursing I and II for the Practical Nurse. Perform other duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments will be primarily day with evening, weekend, hybrid obligations if program needs change, and are subject to change as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a BSN
Demonstrated strong class, lab, and clinical teaching ability
May be assigned evening or weekend classes if program needs change
Have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff
Have a strong understanding of the changing landscape of higher education
Has demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the teaching mission of a comprehensive community college
Is comfortable adopting and integrating new technologies into coursework and online content
Is comfortable collaborating with faculty and students from other disciplines, as well as people from the community
Registered Nurse in Kansas or Multi-State License
3 - 5 years’ clinical work experience in nursing with a focus on medical-surgical nursing
Class, lab, and/or clinical teaching ability
