Job Details

Lycoming College invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position in Marketing to begin in the fall of 2022.  We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Marketing or a closely related discipline.  The successful applicant must be able to teach both marketing principles and marketing/data analytics.  Depending on the candidate’s interests’ other areas in marketing such as marketing strategy, international marketing, or any other marketing-related topics will round out the teaching load. Over time, this position will help to improve and reshape the business curriculum, as well as teach other courses that suit his or her interests. A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts and sciences environment is essential.

The business department at Lycoming College offers two majors.  A major in Business Administration with concentrations in finance, management and marketing and a major in Corporate Communications.  The department also offers a minor in entrepreneurship.  Lycoming College is deeply rooted in the liberal arts tradition and seeks candidates who see the business curriculum as part of this larger goal, integrating business education in an interdisciplinary way with other fields of study. We are dedicated to excellence in the classroom and expect the ideal candidate to include both research and service to the college community in the work that they do.

Required Experience and Qualifications:  A qualified candidate must have a PhD in Marketing or a closely related discipline combined with business experience or a Master’s degree in business. Candidates that are ABD may apply with the clear understanding that degree must be in hand within one year.  The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, advising, and service to the campus community to receive tenure. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in teaching in a liberal arts environment.

To apply, interested applicants should send the following: curriculum vitae, materials illustrating teaching experience, 250-word statement on why they are interested in teaching marketing in a liberal arts academic environment, names and contact information for three references, and copy of graduate transcripts.

Review of applications will begin on September 6 and continue until the position is filled. A pre-employment drug screening will occur post offer.
