Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon
The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for an Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon with expertise in hand & microvascular surgery with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2022.
Candidates must be board certified/eligible in orthopaedic surgery and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. Candidates must also have successfully completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Hand Surgery prior to the start of employment and hold or be eligible for a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting in busy University practices.
Competitive candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching, clinical patient care, and research. Candidates with current or prior federally funded research grants or with strong potential to secure such support in the future will be particularly competitive. Significant experience with microvascular reconstruction and free tissue transfer is necessary.
Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
