Position Summary:

The Theater and Arts Marketing Specialist position is responsible for implementing the strategy, marketing direction and day-to-day management of marketing tactics for the Wisconsin Union Theater and Wheelhouse Studios. This unique position supports the goals of the Wisconsin Union Theater and Wheelhouse Studios to engage, inspire, connect, promote and raise awareness of the arts within the Wisconsin Union. Fast-paced, multi-faceted and part of the Wisconsin Union Marketing/Communications team, this position supports the overall goals of the marketing department, upholds organizational brand standards and works with students and staff to support the goals of the organization.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations or related field is preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of three year of professional experience or its equivalent in marketing advertising, or public relations, theater or arts marketing preferred.

Account management experience preferred. Ability to develop partnerships with unit managers and understand their operations and financial status. Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing communications plans and evaluate their effectiveness.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing, market research, advertising, graphic design, website development, video and digital marketing and print production.

Experience and working knowledge of content management systems, email/CRM, Social media (paid and unpaid), media buying.

Excellent organizational and project management skills required including attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects and conflicting deadlines.

Strong oral and written communication skills required. Business, creative writing, and editing skills required. (Three writing samples are required as part of the application process.)
