Position Summary:

The Research Administrator position will provide a wide range of pre- and post-award grants administration support (proposal preparation through closeout) to investigators in the Department of Pediatrics. In the fiscal year 2019, the Department of Pediatrics received over $37 million in research support, of which nearly $25.2 million was federally funded. This is the largest annual award amount in the department's history and is an increase in research support of approximately 125% over the past 10 years. Over this same time period, faculty numbers have increased by ~50%, from a headcount of 109 to 186. This incredible growth is a reflection of the Department's commitment to research and high-caliber research administrative support.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree in business, health or related field preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Two years of experience with research administration in an academic and/or medical setting required.
- Familiarity with sponsored projects and UW financial policies and systems a plus.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, independent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and an outgoing and energetic service-oriented approach required. Ability to be flexible in work assignments and work effectively with faculty, staff, university administrators and funding agency representatives is critical.

Prefix is determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.
