Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching and
service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions
Primary duty will be to teach graduate level courses and provide clinical supervision in an online setting for the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Other duties will include advising students, and curriculum development. Specific teaching assignments are dependent on department needs and individual expertise. Candidates should either have an LPC License or equivalent state license or become eligible for licensure within one year of hire. Relocation to Lubbock, Texas is not required.

Required Qualifications
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the
academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to
teach effectively.
Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, and a record of
professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of
growth in teaching; and experience with mental health counseling
and addiction counseling specialty areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Core counselor education program faculty have earned doctoral degrees in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as full-time faculty members in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
Candidates should have an LPC license or equivalent state license or become eligible for license within one year of hire. Experience with mental health counseling specialty and addiction and/or clinical rehabilitation specialty areas.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the
individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring
department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional
