The Human Resource Coordinator supports and facilitates the human resource processes at Elmhurst University. This role provides administrative support to the human resources function, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. Salary Grade O06 Essential Functions
  • Prepares and maintains employment records/files related to events including: hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, promotions, etc.
  • Assists with employment process including hiring, on-boarding, off-boarding, HRIS, and benefits enrollment.
  • Responsible for I-9 documentation verification, compliance with federal guidelines and maintenance of records.
  • Assists in recruiting and interviewing activities including coordination with hiring managers, advertisement placement, offer letters, background checks and maintenance of all job posts.
  • Assists as point of contact for the ATS (PeopleAdmin), including user questions and general support.
  • Schedules and conducts new employee orientations.
  • Maintains accurate records of all faculty and staff.
  • Maintains Tuition Exchange import and export applications.
  • Maintains all Elmhurst University organizational charts.
  • Maintains all Elmhurst University job descriptions
  • Manages HR department inbox, group mail, and all paper mail.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assists with HR projects.
  • Keeps up to date with latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Supports mission, vision and values.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 1- 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Colleague experience is preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object. Work Hours
