Full-time, non-union, hourly, support staff position, eligible for fringe benefits. Salary range is $40,000 to $48,000 per year. Position maintains the financial records of the Kaskaskia College Foundation and assists with accounting functions in the Kaskaskia College business office.
Position is responsible for maintaining financial records of the Kaskaskia College Foundation, including updating donor records, preparing payment requests, maintaining records for restricted and endowed funds, reconciling bank and investment statements, and reconciling general ledger accounts. Position also prepares financial reports for presentation to College Administration and the Foundation Board of Directors. Responsible for preparing schedules and assisting with the annual Foundation audit. Position will also assist with College cash and general ledger accounting responsibilities. Candidate must handle sensitive and confidential information in a timely manner.
Requires Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field along with 3 years of general ledger, bookkeeping, or related experience. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred as well as not-for-profit or fund accounting experience. Candidate must have a sense of professional curiosity, desire to learn new things, and be flexible. Candidate must possess intermediate excel and word processing application skills. Applicant must have ability to understand complex rules, such as endowment and restricted funds, tax implications of donations, and investment statements. Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills as well as attention to detail are required. Occasional evening and weekend hours to execute functions in a timely and professional manner.
