Grant and Contract Accountant

Kaskaskia College is seeking a Grant and Contract Accountant who is responsible for accounting and compliance functions associated with restricted funds.  The position collaborates with College personnel to support financial operations of restricted funds to promote life-long student learning and provide a quality comprehensive education. This position is also responsible for managing resources and time to meet deadlines, contribute to preparation of audits and budget of restricted funds, stay abreast of reporting and compliance requirements for HEERF (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund).

Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience where similar knowledge, skills, and abilities. Two years’ experience in a compliance, risk, or audit role. The successful candidate must have a sense of professional curiosity, desire to learn new things, and be flexible. Candidate must possess intermediate excel and word processing application skills. Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills as well as attention to detail are required. Occasional evening and weekend hours to execute functions in a timely and professional manner. All applicants being considered for hire will be required to submit to a pre-employment background investigation, including a criminal record check.

This is a full-time, non-union, hourly, support staff position, eligible for fringe benefits.  The salary range is $40,000 to $50,000 per year.  Position maintains the financial records of the Kaskaskia College Foundation and assists with accounting functions in the Kaskaskia College business office.
