Adjunct Faculty: Music & Theatre - Vocal AR9968
The Department of Music and Theatre at Xavier University seeks a dynamic Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano and educator to teach private lessons in Voice to majors in Music, Musical Theatre, and Theatre, as well as to non-majors on a part-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Vocal Performance.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Vocal Performance and college teaching experience.
Contracts for private lesson adjunct faculty are issued on a semester basis. Additional lessons in the spring semester of 2022 and beyond may be available to the applicant who demonstrates successful teaching in her first semester at Xavier.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Effectively plan and prepare lessons to support student success.
- Coordinate boards with other faculty members to evaluate student work at the end of each semester.
- Maintain open communication with department faculty.
- Use Xavier’s campus-wide LMS (Canvas), to provide course information and maintain an electronic record of student progress.
