Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Academic Affairs is the central division for implementing the mission of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Through effective academic policies, practices and programs, it provides leadership for excellence in teaching, scholarship and creative work as well as service to local, regional and global communities. The division allocates resources to recruit and retain faculty scholars and to create a learning environment that encourages students. The business world is transforming itself from the industrial age into the information age of tomorrow. Business education at the Cameron School of Business is focused on the technical, analytical and interpersonal skills students will need to lead this fundamental change in the business world through the first half of the 21st century. Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Administrative Associate provides administrative and technical support to the department
• Assists with managing, coordinating, and administering department goals
• Secures travel arrangements and processes travel authorizations and reimbursements
• Purchases and stores departmental supplies
• Processes large mailings
• Keeps the Graduate Programs office space organized
• Assists with event planning
• Provides support during departmental hiring
• Maintains departmental web site
• Spends from and reconciles department budgets
• Supervises student workers
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
Experience with Banner
Experience with Contribute for Web pages
Required Certifications or licensure
$31,200 - $34,850
