Associate Director of Sustain Coastal

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Associate Director of Sustain Coastal (Program Coordinator II). 

Duties include, but are not limited to: directs, plans, and organizes the daily operations of Sustain Coastal; directs, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff and supervisors; directs the completion of Coastal Carolina University’s Climate Action Plan to set targets and interim milestones for becoming climate neutral; collect data for and complete sustainability assessments such as the AASHE STARS and a biennial greenhouse gas inventory; oversee collection and analysis of data on CCU’s energy use, material flows, transportation strategies, and purchasing policies from across campus as a part of the implementation process for the development of sustainability projects on campus; provide leadership and guidance in organizing events involving students, faculty, and staff to promote university-wide sustainability practices and an environmentally-mindful culture; inform the community of our progress, identify future opportunities, and motivate others to be actively involved in sustainability efforts; spearhead internal efforts toward more sustainable operations such as reducing waste, increase waste diversion efforts, reducing energy usage, and increasing solar energy projects on campus; directly tasking the Sustainability and Waste Diversion Coordinator’s with implementation of objectives outlined in climate action plans; models, promotes and ensures exceptional customer service delivery to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; represent CCU as a leader in the community regarding sustainability, both managing opportunities and initiating relationships; assists with formulation, allocation, and maintenance of departmental budget; and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience are required.  A valid driver's license is also required. A master’s degree in Sustainability or Environmental Science and two (2) years project and/or team management experience is preferred.  Education and experience should combine a strong set of interrelated expertise in areas including, but not limited to, supervision, sustainability and environmental science.
