This is a full-time position that works closely with prospective students as they apply for admission and for financial aid.

At St. Catherine University we educate women to lead and influence and we have a successful and engaged Admissions team for the College for Women! TheAssistant Director of Admission & Financial Aidserves in a joint position as admission counselor and financial aid administrator for new undergraduate students in the College for Women. This role has dual responsibilities for recruiting new students to enroll and serving new students with financial aid processing and financial aid counseling. Admissions engages with students and adapts to their schedules. Fall and Spring recruiting seasons include work during the evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:

  • Counsel and advise prospective students and their families about admission and financial aid to the College for Women, balancing admission and financial aid responsibilities.
  • Prepare financial aid awards and revisions for new students and respond to inquiries from students and families regarding awards, revisions and questions pertaining to costs and aid.
  • Analyze and review student eligibility for financial assistance, provide professional judgement where needed pertaining to determination of dependent status, and appeals.
  • Manage a geographic territory for student recruitment. Recruitment work includes visiting high schools, attending college fairs, and contacting students who inquire, applicants and accepted students.
  • Learn and understand information about every aspect of the university including academic majors, financial aid, student life, housing, and more in order to share that information with students and their families.
  • Develop, coordinate & implement both admission and financial aid events to support student engagement and enrollment.
  • Work respectfully and effectively with students and families from all different cultures and perspectives who may be confused about the financial aid process.
  • Package majority of aid offers for first year and transfer students, approximately 1,500 per year, within six-month time period.
  • Participate in campus events that involve prospective students.
  • Provide training and act as liaison to admission and financial aid staff and serve on a variety of committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three years of full-time, professional work experience.
  • One year of experience working in financial aid.
  • Ability to plan and conduct small and large group presentations/programs.
  • Knowledge of admission recruitment and financial aid cycles.
  • Must be flexible, positive, motivated and team-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of full-time experience working in financial aid.
  • Knowledge and experience applying federal, state and college financial aid policies, including federal financial aid verification.
