Job Summary:

An adjunct instructor is a term-to-term appointment with responsibility to students, course material, and classroom and/or online instruction.

Role Summary:

To undertake teaching activities in the curriculum area, ensuring high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs.

To work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

To undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed.

To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.

To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.

To contribute to the development of curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration Functional Skills development and equality and diversity.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate studies in English are required. The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.

Expertise in any of the various that define a high quality English Program to include but not limited to the following:

Composition, Rhetoric, and Creative Pose

Candidate must be an enthusiastic educator.

Strong written and oral communication skills required.

The ability to work with others within the larger department on curriculum, scheduling, study abroad, and related areas is indispensable.

Preferred Qualifications

A Doctorate degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution is preferable.

Online experience is a plus.

Prior teaching experience and command of instructional technology is high desirable.

Expertise in cutting-edge pedagogy, assessment, and/or community-based teaching (community relations, student-faculty collaborations) is highly desirable.

Central State University ( CSU ) urgently needs adjuncts in Criminal Justice, Business Management, and Early Childhood Education for summer 2020 online degree programs. Qualified candidates must have at minimum a Master’s degree or 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline and documented online teaching experience.

Beginning fall 2020, we plan to offer our Intervention Specialist ( INS ) degree program online through the College of Education and will soon add an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies-Humanities.

We welcome adjuncts interested in becoming full-time, non-tenure track faculty in future. We offer competitive adjunct pay and full-time salaries as well as an excellent benefits package to full-time employees.
