About Northeastern:
Founded in 1898, Northeastern is a global research university and the recognized leader in experience-driven lifelong learning. Our world-renowned experiential approach empowers our students, faculty, alumni, and partners to create impact far beyond the confines of discipline, degree, and campus.

Our locations—in Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; London; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; Seattle; Silicon Valley; Toronto; Vancouver; and the Massachusetts communities of Burlington and Nahant—are nodes in our growing global university system. Through this network, we expand opportunities for flexible, student-centered learning and collaborative, solutions-focused research.

Northeastern's comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs— in a variety of on-campus and online formats—lead to degrees through the doctorate in nine colleges and schools. Among these, we offer more than 195 multi-discipline majors and degrees designed to prepare students for purposeful lives and careers.

About the Opportunity:
This position supports the Galante Engineering Business Program at Northeastern University, which comprises a Program Director and up to 50 Galante Engineering Business Fellows. The Fellows each have made the application and have been selected to participate in the Program, which has academic and co-curricular elements. Following acceptance, each Fellow is involved in the Program for the duration of his or her academic career in undergraduate engineering with a Masters in Engineering Management. The program offers multiple events per academic year for the Fellows for professional development, skill-building for engineering management careers, and program community-building; these events are often open to students from the NU College of Engineering and the D'Amore-McKim School of Business.

The Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting three significant elements of the Galante Program: (1) Program event coordination and support; (2) marketing and student engagement support; and (3) managing and maintaining candidate and Fellows' records as they pertain to Program involvement;

The individual will serve as the project leader and main point of contact during Galante Engineering Business events to assist with setup, hosting, and facilitation, as well as technical and physical support. The individual should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and troubleshoot as needed. They will be equipped with strong organizational, planning, creative and interpersonal skills, which will involve liaising with and hosting speakers, booking event space for dining and speaker/workshop events, managing catering orders, customizing tent/name cards and signage, and designing flyers and other advertising and marketing elements. The overall position also entails working with the Program Director to schedule, promote, execute and finalize records for all Galante Engineering events.

The individual will support the creation of a marketing plan for the Galante program in collaboration with the Director and COE marketing that will include utilizing social media channels, newsletters, and other platforms to communicate to internal and external shareholders. The Program Assistant will establish a partnership with COE student chapters and other COE student entities to effectively promote the Galante program.

The Program Assistant will assist in initial intake of Fellows' information upon their acceptance into the program, and thereafter managing and maintaining their records as they pertain to the program. They will also serve as a liaison with undergraduate and graduate academic advisors, as appropriate, to assist Fellows with ensuring their status is correct within their academic program and the Galante Program. The Program Assistant will also coordinate other milestones in the academic progress of the Fellows such as participation in Commencement, as well as track Fellows' post-graduate career progression.
