The Office of Student Accounts is seeking an experienced professional with direct experience in delinquent account collections, cash management, frontline customer service, and staff supervision. This newly created position will be instrumental in helping to increase the level of service the college is proud to provide to its students. The incumbent in this role will also participate in the expansion of financial literacy initiatives aimed at helping our students achieve success in their college career and pursue higher education affordably.

Duties:

Serve as second in command and act in place of the director in their absence

Build and maintain a collections function within the office that would be responsible for monitoring and managing the debt collection process on campus in a more consistent/timely manner. This would include implementing and managing new and more effective collection practices, including payment arrangements, as informed by industry and SUNY best practices

Collaborate with colleagues in Student Financial Services, create and disseminate programming and information related to increasing students' financial literacy

Assist TAP Certifying Official: process Remittance Advise and evaluating TAP waivers

Manage the process of cross-registration verification, billing, and invoicing Serve as liaison between SUNY System Administration and other state agencies in matters dealing with the interpretation of policy such as they apply to the collection of money at a state institution. Serve as the liaison between Office of Student Accounts and International Programs Manage International /ESL Programs billing Manage and resolve issues that are escalated by or above the purview of junior staff Perform the Daily Bank Reconciliation (backup)

Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 3 years' experience with Billing and Delinquent Account Collections
Experience providing a high level of frontline customer service and supervising customer service staff

Preferred:

Experience with Financial Aid policies and practices as well as counseling on financial literacy
Experience with BANNER, ARGOS, banking, and accounts reconciliation
Fluency in a language other than English is desired
