Woodbury University invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty to join the Game Art & Design program located in Burbank, California. This qualified part-time faculty candidate is expected to teach Fall 2021 game design classes.
This appointment is for part-time employment and includes eligibility to participate in medical plans, 403(b) supplemental plan, and access to the tuition-remission benefit on a proportional basis. Eligibility is after 30 days of service on the first of the following month.

Responsibilities
- Syllabus and class preparation
- Instruction during scheduled course times
- Availability to students for consultation and assistance as needed outside of class
- Evaluation of student performance (e.g., grading papers, exams, projects, juries)
- Regular evaluation of students’ work, including prompt communication of performance on assignments
- Submission of final grades to the Registrar’s Office, which is currently completed via Woodbury University Self- Service
Course Name: Game Prototyping
Students will:
- Create, document and present original video game designs
- Implement, playtest, assess and reiterate game prototypes of original designs
- Develop and test the logic of game engine components
Course Name: Level Design
Students will:
- Create original playfield layouts that display key level design practices
- Develop playfield layouts from a given set of design specifications and intents
- Implement a playable digital game based on the developed Production Design
Requirements
- Proficiency with Unity3D, and Game Systems Programming in C#
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field of design or computer science. Master’s level or advanced degree preferred.
- Able to instruct and guide students through best practices of prototyping, play testing, iteration, presentation and collaboration.
- Familiarity with and technical knowledge of current generation game systems.
- Able to provide critical, informed, and creative feedback to students.
- Published game title(s) a major plus
- Experience managing class rosters, attendance, timely grading of assignments.
- Able to provide critical, informed, and creative feedback to students.
