Position Overview:

Evaluates degree requirements and certifies undergraduate degrees at the University. Communicates with University personnel and undergraduate students regarding status of graduation applications. Reviews undergraduate student applications and determines eligibility for graduation candidacy. Reviews processed applications to determine graduation eligibility once prior semester in-progress grades are updated. Determines final eligibility for degree certification once final semester grades are processed. Runs degree audit reports and explains results to advisors and students. Enters approved substitutions, waivers, and exceptions into university degree audit system. Reviews transcripts and degree audit reports to troubleshoot and resolve GPA requirements, attributes, credit hours, and other degree requirement issues. Communicates to students by letters, phone calls, e-mail, and personal contact about their graduation eligibility. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Requires a bachelor's degree in field plus 1+ years of relevant experience in the chosen field or 5+ years of equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred :

Experience with the process of verifying completion of university degree requirements or advising students on certification process. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to calculate future GPA based on estimated grades. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner student information system or Degree Works degree audit system. Knowledge of degree programs, college requirements, and the general operation of UCO preferred.
