Position Summary:

This is an Electrician-Journey position with the Wisconsin Union (Memorial Union and Union South). Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: installing, maintaining, and repairing all electrical installations in buildings. Remodeling buildings in accordance with specifications. Maintaining and repairing electrical facilities to enhance the safety and comfort of all users. The work is performed under the general direction of the Building and Grounds Supervisor.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Must have 10 years minimum experience as an electrician
-Must have 5 years minimum as a foreman

License or Certificate:

-Must have a current and valid State of Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Electrician License.

Additional Information:

1. Knowledge of all methods, procedures, practices, tools, and instruments used in the electrical trade.
2. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the electrical trade including lockout/tagout.
3. Knowledge of current electrical building codes.
4. Skill in communication, including interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to exercise a strong sense of priority and time management.
6. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, schematics, and construction plans.
7. Ability to maintain a professional and service oriented relationship with customers and co-workers.
8. Ability to be creative, flexible, self-motivated, and quality oriented.
9. Ability to present a neat, clean appearance at all times.
10. Ability to do necessary bending, climbing, and heavy lifting associated with the electrical trade.
11. Ability to work hours in excess of the normal work shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

**Starting rate for this position will be between $43.05-$44.43 depending on leave time selected.
