Humber College is actively seeking an experienced leader to serve as their new Senior Dean, Faculty of Social and Community Services & Principal, Lakeshore Campus.

With a 50-year history of providing high quality post-secondary education and as a founding member of Polytechnics Canada, Humber College is one of the largest post-secondary institutions in Canada with over 33,000 full-time students across three campuses. Humber provides a broad range of career-focused credentials including bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, apprenticeship training, certificates and Ontario graduate certificates, and is committed to student success through excellence in teaching and learning.  Humber’s award-winning faculty has advanced academic credentials, industry experience and employs the latest technology and teaching methodologies in state-of-the-art labs and classrooms that simulate a real-world working environment. The College’s polytechnic approach includes a wide range of credentials with well-established pathways between them, as well as partnerships with industry, community agencies, and other educational institutions, providing students with access to industry leaders and work experience.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Academic, and under the general direction of the President, the Senior Dean, Faculty of Social and Community Services & Principal, Lakeshore Campus, works with senior leadership to set the strategic direction for the two areas of scope – first, the Faculty of Social and Community Services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services in support of organizational objectives; and second, the facilitation and implementation of the strategic planning processes as they relate to the Lakeshore Campus within the framework set by the President and Board of Governors. As a leader of a dynamic team, the Senior Dean and Principal ensures successful design and delivery of the academic and operational plan for the Faculty and is also responsible for administrative oversight, ensuring the effective delivery of services and financial performance within the Faculty. The Senior Dean and Principal encourages the development of mutually supportive partnerships and alliances with all stakeholders that support the achievement of the organizational strategic direction of Humber and to ensure an inclusive, student-centered community.

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated progressive leadership in post-secondary and have a track record of success in working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments, preferably in the College sector. You have demonstrated effective and creative ways to develop partnerships and alliances with stakeholders, internally and externally. You are a champion for social justice and inclusive work and learning environments. As a skilled relationship builder, you find innovative ways to connect disciplines, ideas, and individuals in order to advance and promote the success of the College and society. You are committed to a student-centered community, and approach leadership and community-building with a lens of global citizenship, and inclusion. You challenge conventional academic concepts and boldly look for new ways to add value to the student learning experience at the College.
