Job Description Summary

The Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy ( AUHSOP ) is seeking one (1) Professor of Practice (PoP) to support the new Practice Ready Curriculum in a unique student-centered skills laboratory learning environment during the academic year. This is a 9-month, 1.0 FTE, non-tenurable appointment in which the individual will work with HSOP faculty and staff to provide premier educational experiences for our students. The position is based at the Auburn campus, but may include distance teaching involving the Mobile campus. The individual will work primarily with students in our Skills Laboratory and facilitate learning experiences and assessments within the lab and/or classroom environment. Other responsibilities may include working with students in other areas of the Pharm.D. curriculum in addition to the Skills Lab. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Participation in the Practice Ready Curriculum with PharmD students including in small and large group instruction, active delivery of educational content, and assessment of pharmacy related skills and knowledge (grading assessments). • Facilitate, oversee, and grade skills based laboratory activities, exercises and performance-based activities (PBAs) across all three years of the didactic curriculum. • Facilitate and grade assignments as needed throughout the PharmD curriculum • Assist with the management of courses Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have earned a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS degree from an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy and be licensed in the state of Alabama at the time employment begins. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, clinical, practice management, and organizational skills; be able to facilitate, motivate, and influence others; and demonstrate exceptional teamwork skills.

Desired Qualifications

Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have a residency, board certification, extensive work experience in a clinical or academic environment, or other relevant credentials.
