Brief Description of Duties

The Department of Art and Art History at San José State University is searching for part-time faculty to encourage critical thinking and iterative concept development within class assignments. Black and White Photography (beginning darkroom), Intermediate Digital Imaging, Advanced Black and

White Photography (intermediate to advanced darkroom), and Advanced Photographic Media (a course with rotating topics that include Photo as Document and Portraiture). Department lecturers are also required to participate in 1-2 faculty meetings each semester and provide assessment data and information to the department. SJSU’s Photography Program is known for its exceptional facilities and the breadth of its offerings in photographic media.

All Faculty should be organizing their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), the official LMS provided for the SJSU community. All classes at SJSU, whether online or not, must be anchored in the Canvas platform to ensure faculty-student connection in a common space as all students are directed to log in to Canvas for online access to their classes. You will have access to this system prior to the semester start date.
