Job Description:

The WSRE Support Specialist under the direction of the General Manager, will perform work requiring advanced administrative skills in support of WSRE TV station and WSRE TV Foundation, Inc. This position performs a variety of duties that require a working knowledge of the organization and programs of the station and Foundation relating to administration, policies, procedures and compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations of various governmental entities. Duties include document management, program support, planning, budgeting, acquisition and maintenance of records for audit and reporting requirements. Position requires a high level of coordination with station administration and staff, the public and the Foundation Board members. Serves as receptionist and point of contact for the station. Maintains station calendar for meetings, deadlines and events. Position reports to the General Manager, WSRE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible experience in office administration, planning, document management, and demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional (including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) in a networked office setting, and internet navigation. Five years of progressively responsible experience and an associate’s degree may substitute for the required degree and experience. Successful results of a criminal background check.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer expertise with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro, along with experience working in a fast-paced office environment with multiple deadlines. Prefer experience working in a non-profit, media or educational entity.

ANNUAL SALARY: $33,730.00
