Department Summary

In support of the CSUSB Strategic Plan, the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) leads the campus' internationalization and global engagement by collaborating with international partners to develop and promote activities, programs, and services that meet the needs of the university, regional, national and global communities.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Director of International Admissions and Student Services, the incumbent will process international student applications. The incumbent will provide information and guidance to students from pre-admission to post-admission, either by phone, face-to-face or by email correspondence. The incumbent is responsible for receiving application documents, downloading online applications from Cal State Apply, entering paper applications into the PeopleSoft - Campus Solutions System, organizing files and documents submitted by applicants, and distributing application documents to evaluators. The incumbent is responsible for updating web admit and scanning documents into OnBase. The incumbent will create and manage a checklist for each applicant and assist applicants and staff with various concerns related to international admissions. The incumbent will receive, review and process early summer and transitory student applications. The incumbent will create content and post on social media platforms and attend recruitment fairs as needed.

Employment Status: Full-time, Temporary, Non-Exempt position.

*The initial review of applications will begin on July 20, 2021.

Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. (During summer schedule: June 7, 2021, to August 6, 2021)

Key Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the basic principle of individual and group behavior
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, to reason logically, draw a valid conclusion and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to participate in and contribute to group meetings.
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Working knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Education and Experience
  • No experience required AND equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job‑related field. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in a language in addition to English.
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Working knowledge of Cal State Apply system and PeopleSoft - Campus Solutions System.


Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,513-$3,689/month

Classification Salary Range: $3,513-$4,298/month
