Student Engagement and Enrollment Services (SEES) is accepting applications for the Assistant Director of the Women and Gender Equity Center (full-time, 12 month) position.  This position will develop, coordinate, present, and assess educational programs and services for students designed to 1) promote gender equity and eliminate sexism, 2) enhance safety by addressing root causes of sexual and relationship violence to transform social norms, and 3) facilitate the retention of female students. This position will also coordinate the Sexual Assault Free Environment (S.A.F.E.) program, in addition to providing advocacy, support, and education for students.


Required Education:  Master’s degree in women’s studies, higher education, sociology, or related field.

Required Qualifications: Considerable experience in crisis intervention and advocacy.  Comprehensive knowledge of sexual and relationship violence and related issues. Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary women’s issues and gender theory. Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and present programs. Excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge of student development theory. Considerable experience in crisis intervention and advocacy.

Preferred Qualifications: Considerable experience in a campus or community-based sexual assault program. Demonstrated considerable ability to assess students’ needs and make appropriate referrals. Some experience in a higher education setting.
