Job Title Adjunct Faculty in Master's in Education/School Counseling Program Rank Adjunct Faculty Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Job Description

An adjunct position is open in the Master’s in Education/School Counseling Program at
Providence College. The open course, EDU 541: Theories of Counseling, presents an
historical view of counseling theories and their relation to the profession of school
counseling. The course will be offered in person in the fall and spring semesters beginning
in 2021. A Master’s in Education is required for this position, and experience in school
counseling is preferred.

Essential Duties

The position includes the following expectations:

• graduate teaching in the fall and spring semester of each academic year
• participation in monthly program faculty meetings
• participation in program accreditation preparation and visits
• participation in ongoing program improvement efforts
• possesses an understanding of the climate, culture and expectations of K-12 schools
and concrete examples of theory application
• knowledgeable of the ASCA Model
• develops strong rapport with students.
• maintains contact with students on a regular basis.

Education and Experience Required

A Master’s in Education is required for this position, and experience in school leadership and/or reading /literacy is preferred.
