Summary/Objective

The Administrative Operations Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the library building, its collections, and provides support for some library programming activities such update Research Commons room reservation schedule each semester in WCOnline; as well as manage the Library’s Administrative Operations full and part time staff. Collaborate closely with the Building Operations Coordinator to address and communicate new and ongoing building and maintenance issues. Oversees the Receiving Room to ensure ordered items are received and distributed. Addresses security issues, provides building and door access, and manages Library’s emergency preparedness plans. Oversees the evacuation of patrons and staff in the event of a building emergency.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • Directly supervises 3FT staff and 3-4 PT staff.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • 35 Non-exempt
  • Coordinator/Analyst B
  • Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm with occasional communications with staff reporting to position outside of work hours for which they are paid



Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience


Preferred Education and Experience
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience


Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Hiring offers for this position are contingent on the successful completion of background check
  • Three years supervisory experience required, with the attendant skills of hiring, motivating, training, and allocating work
  • A proficiency in a wide range of computing skills and software
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and to handle stressful and /or emergency situations
  • Competencies of reliability, integrity, accountability, diversity appreciation, and effective interpersonal relationships
  • Competencies also required for the position are demonstrated project planning and initiative abilities, attention to detail, collaboration, communication, customer focus, organizational understanding, planning and organizing, problem solving, drive for results, flexibility, initiative, coaching skills, and collaborative leadership
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy loads of books, and the ability to move furniture
