Jonathan S. Lewin, MD, FACR, Executive Vice President for Health
Affairs, Emory University, in collaboration with the Office of the
Provost for Emory University and the Search Advisory Committee,
co-chaired by Dr. Linda McCauley, Dean of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff
School of Nursing, and Dr. Paul Johnson, Director of the Yerkes
National Primate Research Center, invite applications and
nominations for an outstanding academic, visionary leader to serve
as the next Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health.
The successful candidate should be a dynamic and respected public
health leader, who will serve in this critical role to build upon
the strengths and longstanding reputation of the world class
Rollins School of Public Health. The Dean will play a key role in
maintaining Emory’s reputation as a premier destination for public
health and is responsible for collaborating with other national and
international public health leaders to assure the development and
growth of the public health missions. These responsibilities
require the Dean to exert effective leadership in planning,
evaluating success and growth and recruitment. The Dean will be
responsible for the overall mission, vision, strategic direction,
coordination and administration of the Rollins School of Public
Health.
The Rollins School of Public Health, ranked No. 4 in the nation by
US News and World Report, comprises six academic departments:
behavioral, social, and health education sciences; biostatistics
and bioinformatics; environmental health; epidemiology; health
policy and management; and global health. Rollins programs include
an executive MPH program and seven doctoral programs in partnership
with the Laney Graduate School. Over 200 full-time, doctoral-level
faculty members teach and conduct research in areas such as
mathematical modeling of infectious disease transmission, exploring
relationships between nutrition and chronic disease, and
investigating cancer causation and control. The Rollins School of
Public Health offers dual-degree programs with Emory's business,
medical, nursing, and law schools in the areas of physical
assistance, physical therapy, theology and the Laney PhD programs.
Research funding for fiscal year 2020 reached a milestone of
$132.9M.
