Job Description
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is looking to hire an Admissions Events & Communications Specialist (Part-Time) to support the Admissions Department. Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Admissions, a division of the University’s Enrollment Management Team, is searching for an Admissions Events & Communication Specialist to manage all aspects of their recruitment events and assist with the process of reviewing/generating Admissions communications. The Admissions department hosts a variety of events each year that range in size and audience. This position requires candidates to be self-starters who can work very well independently, who can collaborate with a multitude of constituents simultaneously, who have outstanding interpersonal skills, who are flexible and who are willing to triage a good challenge and/or last minute problem. Additionally, this position will assist with the review and creation of Admissions communications, including emails and print materials.
Job Duties:
The following skills and traits are requisite to the position: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to deal positively with the public using good public relations skills; effective listening skills; establish and maintain excellent working relationship with others; be self-motivated and self assured; have the capacity to see projects through to successful completion (ie follow-up); work evenings, weekends and possibly minor holidays, possess a valid drivers license with good driving record. Analytical skills with knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
College Degree preferred and/or experience in related fields.

Job Duties:
- Coordinate all aspects of Admission’s on-campus Open House and
Accepted Student Preview Day, in addition to Admission’s off-campus
recruitment events such as Regional Admissions Presentations
(RAP’s) and Accepted Student Receptions (ASR’s) to include: assist
in the promotion of these events, coordinate giveaway items, book
venues, etc.
- Assist with the review of Admission print marketing materials,
review and occasionally create email communications for the
Prescott Campus.
- Manage the department’s event budget to include; keeping
records of spending and balances on appropriate object codes and
transactions, as well as process necessary Purchase Orders or
Journal Entries. Provide periodic event reports to the
Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Retirement Plan - ERAU offers immediate vesting and provides a

- Use of various campus services: fitness center, library, mail
room and enjoy observation flights
- Read and comprehend instructions, write information, and
complete simple forms.
- High school (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, basic
composition, and math.
