Job Summary
This is a one year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment will be contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance. Oversees, coordinates, and participates in research/projects/programs related to the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence ( NCAME ).
Essential Functions
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: Assists the NCAME Director in all functions and managing day to day operations. Prepares and executes marketing strategies for NCAME that include presentations to national and international audiences. Prepares proposals for research and outreach projects to include developing budgets. Develops proposals, budgets, schedules and progress reports and presents results to internal and external stakeholders. Assists in managing research projects to include developing experimental plans, overseeing and coordinating projects with external partners and sponsors, and lab testing. Collects, analyzes, and reports on data throughout the research, communicates with clients. Provides engineering expertise for specialized area. Develops education, training, and workforce development tools for use by faculty, staff, students, and industry partners. Performs a variety of research and development activities requiring the application of engineering or science-based practices and principles. Works with faculty, to mentor postdocs, students, and staff with engineering design, modification, prototype and process development, analysis procedures, and other engineering solutions. Evaluates findings to develop new concepts, equipment, or processes. Ensures supplies are available and operational for use in projects.
Education Level
PhD - will accept Bachelor's and Master's degree with additional years of experience.
Field of Study
Degree in science-related field or Engineering to include: Aerospace, Biosystems, Chemical, Civil, Software, Electrical and Computer, Industrial and Systems, Mechanical and Materials at the time employment begins.

Requirements for Additional Job Levels
Level III requires 6 years of experience in engineering and research practices and principles.

Education Level
Candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree may substitute relevant experience toward the PhD requirement at the rate of two (2) years relevant experience per year of required education.
