Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field, or bachelor’s degree and work experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design theory and instructional design models, as well as outcomes-based assessment and online teaching strategies.
  • Experience in the design and development of instructional materials and media, interactive learning experiences, and assessments for a range of learning environments, including online and traditional classroom settings.
  • Project management experience, including ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with all constituents in a courteous and helpful manner. Strong communication skills.

N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the project manager and oversee the instructional design and development of the online Veterinary Technician BS program.

  • Work with faculty involved in program-, department-, and college-level projects to advance online course and degree delivery.
  • Regularly meet with faculty to ensure timely progress toward completion of course design projects.
  • Make recommendations for interactive technologies, media and web-based elements.
  • Guide and assist subject-matter experts with the instructional design process for both selected course components and full-course development.
  • Determine the need for involvement of additional personnel, hire, and supervise their participation in projects as needed.
  • Serve the University community through participation in groups and committees both within CAS and across Appalachian State University.
