Position Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Full Time/Part Time Full Time Job Type Regular Position Summary
Under direction of the VP, Student and Donor Engagement and Director of Athletics, identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards gift and sponsorship donors; develops fundraising strategies; supports budget, projects, goals, and strategic planning; coordinates NMHU Athletics sponsorship benefits to include: advertisements in various media forms (programs, radio ads, video streaming commercials, web site ads, event signage, and public address announcements), sponsor event recognition, athletic event season passes, and other benefits associated with sponsorship of NMHU Athletics. Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit financial sponsorship and gift support by developing and maintaining relationships with corporations, foundations, individuals, including alumni, faculty, staff, local and regional businesses, athletics booster organizations, and other key personnel; • Responsible for a portfolio of major sponsorship and gift donors as assigned by VP, SDE and in coordination with other Foundation efforts, that will be evaluated on an ongoing basis; • Achieve revenue and activity goals as set annually; • Organize donor hospitality for game day events and fundraising activities. • Coordinate special events such as but not limited to; sport reunions, golf tournaments, banquets, etc. • Participate in developing campaign materials, case statements, and brochures; • Report as necessary to the NMHU Foundation Board of Directors, and attend Board and Committee meetings for the NMHU Foundation as directed by the VP, SDE ; • Develop competency in donor database and financial systems used by NMHU and the NMHU Foundation; • Support as needed non-athletics Foundation events, such as Homecoming, Commencement, etc.; • Build working relationships and serve as development liaison to coaches, university departments, and other key personnel to achieve successful fundraising; • Nurture a culture of sponsorship support for NMHU Athletics; • Assist in generating revenue through the sale of game and season tickets; • Participate in professional development organizations, committees, boards, and meetings; • Travel locally and to assigned out of town regions; • May supervise staff; • Maintain regular attendance; • Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any field: • Experience: Two (2) years of successful experience in fundraising, or a similar field Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in any field; track record of successful annual fund or sponsorship solicitation for athletics or educational programs; campaign experience; Raiser’s Edge or Financial Edge proficiency. Special Conditions for Eligibility
• Must possess and maintain a valid NM driver’s license. Selection of an out of state candidate will require possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment; • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and odd hours; • Must be willing to travel.
