Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Instruction, the Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will provide administrative support to the instructional services operation in the production of the class schedule and college catalog, in logistical aspects of the curriculum committee, in the management of faculty contracts and accountability, and in the coordination and usage of college instructional facilities.

The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will work with the Associate Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development and area Deans to develop and implement programs; to navigate curriculum through district and state approval processes; to maintain the colleges course and program inventories at the local and state level; to monitor programs for effectiveness; ensure adherence to federal and state regulations in the use of funds and to assist and support the college’s accreditation process.

The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will work to integrate the use of technology-based solutions into college instructional practices, including but not limited to Ad Astra Schedule and Platinum Analytics, Highpoint and PeopleSoft systems. The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will provide administrative support in college instructional services to support college guided pathways initiatives and related initiatives.

The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will represent the college in local and regional instructional groups including but not limited to the CRC and Los Rios Curriculum Committees, the Socrates Advisory Group ( SAG ) and the Capital Adult Education Regional Consortium ( CAERC ). The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning, in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development, will provide administrative support to advancing college online education initiatives, such as increasing representation of online course/programs, and expanding the college presence in the California Virtual Campus/Online Education Initiative ( CVC / OEI ) and Los Rios Colleges Online.

The Associate Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning will have the opportunity to work with a wide diversity of faculty, staff and students on a variety of instructional issues.

Assignment Responsibilities
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
● Assisting Vice President of Instruction with enrollment management, productivity and growth.
● Developing and supervising production of the college class schedules, catalogs and related publications.
● Working with and providing administrative oversight of selected instructional areas and division deans.
● Working with faculty, staff and students to facilitate consensus and action on issues pertaining to instructional programs.
● Monitoring programs, files reports and ensures adherence to regulations of federal and state agencies for the receipt and expenditure of funds.
● Providing administrative support to the instructional services operations.
● Providing technical support with curriculum, coordination and maintenance of faculty contracts.
● Coordinating college instructional facility usage and program approval for all programs.
● Supervising assigned employees and operations.
● Participating as a management team member in general activities related to personnel, support, facilities, and funding of the instructional programs.
● Providing leadership through continued evaluation and improvement of assigned instructional programs.
● Supporting and overseeing reporting requirements for all related budgets.
● Coordinating the personnel selection process including developing and reviewing selection criteria, recruiting, screening, interviewing, and recommending within area of responsibility.
● Coordinating scheduling of curriculum offerings and the monitoring of instructor assignments.
● Preparing instructional related program, facilities, personnel, financial, descriptive and analytical reports.
● Working closely with the Academic Senate to provide leadership in curriculum development activities college wide.
● Assisting in coordinating instructional personnel policies and procedures of the college and District.
● Serving on local, District and state committees as assigned by the Vice
President of Instruction or College President; aids in interpreting college programs and services to the general public.
● Using technology to organize, categorize and coordinate instructional data and reports.
● Serving as a member of the Cosumnes River College management team to assist in the coordination of all campus activities.
● Assisting and supports the College’s accreditation process.
● Supporting the college in maintaining accreditation standards.
● Performing other duties as assigned.

The administrative assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus work and/or hours. Work Year 12 month Work Schedule Total Hrs per Week/Day Special Requirements Minimum Qualifications
1. Have a master’s degree* from an accredited institution completed by September 9, 2021.

2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.

3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

Physical Demands Salary $145,664 to $157,672 annually. LRCCD Salary Schedules Additional Salary Information Additional stipend for an earned doctorate from an accredited university.
