NOTICE OF FACULTY POSITION IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

DATE OF APPOINTMENT:  Late August, 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Doctorate expected, ABD considered. May also consider MBA or other appropriate master’s degree.  Interest in an eclectic liberal arts environment is desirable as is some practical experience in the non-academic business world.

THE POSITION:  Hastings College seeks a student-centered, teaching-oriented Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Administration in our comprehensive undergraduate Business and Economics department. Specific course menu will depend on the needs of the department and the successful candidate’s strengths but may include courses in management, marketing, human resources, and quantitative areas.  The position requires the ability to integrate oral and written communication skills as well as computer skills into course requirements.  The successful candidate will participate in departmental planning and curriculum development, advise undergraduate students, and play an active role in student recruitment.  Hastings College is a teaching institution that gives highest priority to teaching effectiveness.

THE DEPARTMENT:  The Department of Business and Economics is located in the Fleharty Center and includes six or seven full-time faculty members, strong student enrollments, and a friendly, professional atmosphere.

THE COLLEGE:  Founded in 1882, Hastings College is an independent, coeducational, Presbyterian-related, national liberal arts college with an enrollment of about 1100 students.  The student/faculty ratio is 13/1.  

THE COMMUNITY:  Hastings (pop. 25,000) is an attractive residential community in South-Central Nebraska, 100 miles west of Lincoln and 15 minutes south of Interstate 80.  The city enjoys good public and private schools, offers excellent professional and community services, and serves as a cultural center for a large surrounding area.
