Kaiwhakahaere Pūtahi - Te Pūtahi Hauora me te Tiaki Hāpori

Would you like to influence the direction of Health for the benefit of our graduates and the future workforce?

Wintec is seeking a Centre Director for our Centre for Health and Social Practice. The Centre recognises the importance of integrated holistic health and social care and offers nationally and internationally recognised counselling, midwifery, nursing, physiotherapy, social work and mental health programmes, from certificate to postgraduate level.

It is essential that you bring a commitment to Te Tiriti partnership between Tangata Whenua and Tauiwi, to interprofessional learning and education and to graduating students who are critical thinkers confident to apply themselves in their places of employment.

The Centre Director will have proven academic leadership, a broad knowledge of the health and social service sector and an ability to work with a range of professions. You need to have current links to health and social service organisations and will maintain and develop these relationships with communities and service providers.

Are you known for leadership excellence in a particular field of practice with a research record and academic credibility? If you are passionate about leading a team to develop and maintain first-rate academic programme design and delivery, this role may be the next challenge you are looking for. The successful person will be an experienced leader with the ability to manage and lead a large team of health and social practice professionals, work within an established distributed leadership structure and manage a competent, self-motivated management team. Being innovative and having highly developed interpersonal skills along with being able to constructively manage complex relationships is crucial.

The position requires strategic vision and a demonstrated understanding of the tertiary vocational education context. You would be responsible for the development of the business and academic direction for the centre in line with Wintec's strategic goals, investment plans, profile and business plans. The position reports to the Dean and may involve some international travel to develop key relationships and education opportunities.

If applicable, appointment with a further title of Associate Professor or Professor will be considered, commensurate with relevant academic experience.

Wintec continues to be one of the leading tertiary institutes by keeping up with industry trends and focusing on bringing new ideas to life. You'll be supported to stay industry connected and have generous opportunities to develop your career.

We are innovative thinkers at Wintec, and welcome flexible working arrangements.
