Position Summary 

This position supports the visual brand of Fort Lewis College across print and digital platforms. This includes creative design and visual brand management for the College’s primary branding, major campaigns, magazine, and marketing projects, as well as messaging design for Alumni, Advancement, Admission, and other institutional outreach, recruitment, and reputation-building endeavors.   

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Art, Design, Interactive Design, Marketing, or a relevant field.   
  • Two or more years of professional design experience, including proficiency in graphic design, digital art, a sensitivity to typography, color, layout, and materials/textures.   
  • Full competency with the Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, & InDesign)   
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.   
  • Evidence of creative problem solving.   
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Two or more years of professional design experience.    
  • Experience in front line customer service.   
  • Familiarity with the Fort Lewis College culture.​   

Major Responsibilities 

  • Designs digital and print components of major projects, including: news site graphics and interactive material, admission recruitment material, advancement philanthropy campaigns, alumni outreach, college advertising, and social media.   
  • Adheres to brand management and interprets established brand into new formats.   
  • Source, coordinate, design, order, and manage swag for campus-wide usage.   
  • Works with external third-party contractors and product vendors on institutional projects.     
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities  
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.  
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation  

Hourly rate of $21.50 for this part-time 24 hour/week position plus a comprehensive benefits package. The is a temporary one-year position from July 2021 to June 2022.  This position has the option of being remote.
