JOB TITLE:          Director

SCHOOL:             School of Business 

REPORTS TO:      Dean - College of Professional Studies

UNIVERSITY MISSION: Rochester University prepares students for professional and personal success as they serve in God's world.

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide strategic leadership, supervision, and advancement for the School and all of its programs, including oversight of all modes of delivery, staffing, teaching, evaluation, and budget management.  

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Record of successful higher education teaching and administrative experience. Earned doctoral degree (preferred) in appropriately related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Masters degree required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide visionary academic and administrative leadership. Teaches 9 credits/year Provide leadership for strategic planning and ensure linkage of the School’s strategic goals and objectives to the mission, goals and objectives of Rochester University. Coordinate the assessment and development of academic programs. Maintenance and growth of affiliation or articulation agreements. Oversight of:
      Program curricula Applicable program accreditation maintenance according to national and state standards Budget administration and resource allocation Personnel matters involving academic and non-academic employees including: contractual obligations, recruiting, appointment, re-appointment; termination and dismissal; faculty evaluation, tenure, promotion and merit; and the preparation and approval(s) of faculty workload plans and long-range professional development plans.
    Serve on Rochester University committees as appropriate. Adhere to, disseminate and interpret federal, state, and Rochester University policies. Assume selective teaching responsibilities as appropriate. Facilitate implementation of the Rochester University strategic and diversity plans.

Additional Duties:

    Keep abreast of current trends and issues in related professions and higher education; participate in state, regional and national meetings. Participate in professional and civic activities related to professional competencies. Participate in selective scholarship endeavors as appropriate. Represent the School, formally and informally, to departments and schools within Rochester University, other organizations, and the communities served. Actively pursues grants and outside funding sources for major projects and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
