In support of the CSUSB Strategic Plan, The JHBC Student Success Center provides students valuable resources including: Advising where students meet with a professional advisor to review degree requirements and prepare a graduation plan, Internships where students learn how to find an internship and enroll for credit, and Workshops where topics include resumes, internships, interview skills, and networking.
Job Summary
The Student Services Professional IB will provide the day-to-day academic advising to undergraduate students, as well as those enrolled in the online BA, with the goal of promoting student success. General advising includes identification of academic and life goals and ways of pursuing them; assisting students with concentration selection and changes; helping students construct, monitor and update degree plans (including curricular and co-curricular components) to promote timely graduation; making referrals as needed to campus and community resources; and related topics. Using Navigate (EAB) and PeopleSoft to develop intrusive advising campaigns for students, managing walk-in advising opportunities for students, and coordinating international student advising.
Employment Status: Full-time, temporary, "non-exempt" position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).
