Assistant Director, Student Center for Equity & Inclusion

**Full Job Description At Hr.Richmond.Edu**

SUMMARY:

The University of Richmond seeks a dynamic and collaborative student development professional to serve as the Assistant Director for the Student Center for Equity and Inclusion (SCEI). Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, the Assistant Director has primary responsibility for building community, developing programs, and providing resources, support and advocacy for AAPI and Latinx undergraduates. The Assistant Director will provide direct mentoring of individual students and student groups; develop and implement workshops for students on inclusivity, identity development, cultural competence and other related topics; and work with students to provide events and programming that showcase AAPI and Hispanic students. As a member of the SCEI team, the Assistant Director helps to ensure that students of color have a robust set of programs and services available through the Center and that the Center's programming supports students from all backgrounds and identities.

The Student Center for Equity and Inclusion was recently created from the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Common Ground. As part of a talented team of student-centered professionals, the Assistant Director will have the opportunity to work in partnership with colleagues to develop strategy and implement programs to support AAPI and Latinx students, and contribute to broader efforts focused on students of color, students who are first-generation or low income, and the LGBTQ student community.

  • Proficiency in Banner, Microsoft Office suite and ability to master other University administrative systems is preferred.

  • At least 1-2 years of experience with program coordination and implementation, working closely with undergraduate students; experience in higher education desirable but not required.
