Assistant Director. Programs
Center for Publishing
NYU School of Professional Studies
The NYU School of Professional Studies Center for Publishing, which
trains industry professionals for positions in the book and media
industries, seeks an individual to assist with the administration
of its three program areas: the Master of Science in Publishing
program; The Summer Publishing Institute; and global conferences
and events. Primary responsibility will be for the Summer
Publishing Institute and external programming, though the
individual will be asked to manage social media for the department
and assist with the administration of the other programs as
well.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of increasingly
responsible, professional-level experience administering academic
programs or programs or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
and programs, develop and implement marketing, recruitment, and
retention strategies, and administer budgets. Excellent
communication, social media, and presentation skills required as
well as knowledge of current digital platforms and practices.
A background in publishing/media is highly desirable. MBA, MS
in Communications or Journalism or similar degree preferred.
