POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to Dean of Academic Intervention and Support (Dean), manager oversees the day-to-day administration of Joliet Junior College (JJC) University Partnerships and Transfer Initiatives department, which includes management of departmental staff; maintenance of articulation agreements and transfer guides; oversight of transfer training; collaboration with four-year institutions to host faculty, advisors, and other partner staff; strategic marketing of programs and services; measurement of short- and long-term outcomes; strategic organization and leadership of reverse transfer and prior learning assessment; and oversight of University Center. In collaboration with Dean, ensures comprehensive services to students and other stakeholders at the Romeoville Campus. Works closely with JJC departments to foster both internal and external relationships. Provides leadership to department’s staff, and collaborates with campus leaders and senior leadership to align department with college’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Dean to enhance utilization and awareness of University Partnerships and Transfer Initiatives and Romeoville Campus facilities. Coordinate periodic evaluative surveys of University Center/ Romeoville Campus stakeholders. Collaborate on development of short- and long-term strategic plans for University Center/ Romeoville Campus and establish departmental goals, benchmarks, and regular reporting of progress. Conduct ongoing needs assessment and evaluate community needs for advanced programs and degrees. Oversee Articulation Agreement/ Transfer Guide maintenance including discussion, creation, approval, regular review, archival, and other related workflows. Build and maintain Articulation Agreement/Transfer Guide portal, and internal workflows, to house all pertinent documentation within a searchable format for multiple audiences (i.e. faculty, advisors, administration, etc.). Oversee transfer programs and services; work cooperatively with Academic Affairs and Student Development leadership, faculty, and staff to provide accurate transfer information and materials, organize trainings, and design/ host transfer events for students. Support hiring, supervision, and evaluation of all staff assigned to department. This may include grant and/or contractual staff. Collaborate with other JJC divisions and departments to ensure cooperation and minimize duplication. Oversee training and promotion of (1) faculty involvement within articulation process; and (2) Articulation Agreement/ Curriculum Guide portal access. Lead and develop JJC prior learning assessment strategies including but not limited to (1) reviewing and updating related policy and procedures; (2) building and maintaining PLA portal to document and track approval, regular review, archives, and other related workflows; (3) coordinating regular meetings with Enrollment Management, Student Success, Academic Affairs and other stakeholders to share updates, build relationships, and ensure consistent student communication; and (4) reporting on PLA qualitative and quantitative data. Serve as JJC’s reverse transfer point of contact by coordinating the process by which four-year institution credit is transferred back to JJC for the award of an Associate’s degree; review and update related policy and procedures. Work with Marketing and Creative Services Department to create and implement marketing plans for University Center/ Romeoville Campus. Establish measurement process to gauge effectiveness and student/ institutional value of university partnerships, PLA credit, and reverse transfer endeavors. Remain competent and aware of industry trends to (1) adjust departmental procedures, (2) provide relevant staff/ faculty training, and (3) ensure participants are receiving maximum benefits. Represent JJC and University Center/ Romeoville Campus at workshops, conferences, trainings, and meetings as assigned. Prepare, maintain, and implement budgets and forecasts. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree Three (3) years of staff supervision and process management in higher education admissions, advising, transfer, or registration Strong interpersonal skills and experience creating and maintaining articulation agreements and curriculum guides Strong written and verbal communications Comprehensive knowledge of Illinois Articulation Initiatives (IAI), iTransfer, General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) as it pertains to IAI Cursory knowledge of transfer-related technology and resources, website maintenance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree in higher education or related field. Five (5) years of staff supervision and process management in higher education admissions, advising, transfer, or registration. Active participation within transfer, university partnership, and/or prior learning assessment consortiums.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Normal office physical demands. Ability to travel between campus locations and to community events. Ability to travel in state and nationally.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed indoors in the usual academic office environment.
