Position Summary
This position works under general supervision and reports to the Marketing Manager in Graduate & Extended Learning. The position participates in planning, coordinating, and implementing new or modified systems related to marketing all programming sponsored by GEL .
This position also supervises GEL office marketing student employees.
The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. This position may require flexibility with work hours in order to accommodate program marketing demands.
Description of College / Department / Program / Division / Unit
Graduate & Extended Learning is a new unit on campus, formed by the merger of Graduate Studies and Extended Learning. We work to connect the university to the community by offering innovative educational opportunities. We support and advocate for campus graduate degree programs and credit course opportunities, provide conference and event services, and support a wide array of professional development opportunities. We are a fast-paced office with multiple deadlines, and our work changes often. For that reason we value collaboration, communication, and strong organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
• Education Minimum: High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Website editing experience
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Knowledge and experience in the use of bulk email software
• Ability to coordinate projects, work independently and to set priorities to meet the demands of the position and associated deadlines
• Ability to use discretion and good judgment regarding confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business
• Previous work experience in marketing
• Graphic design experience
• Project management
Physical Demands
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Working conditions and environment
• Professional representation of GEL and professional attire is required
• Some evening and weekend work may be required
• Some in and out of town travel
