The William Davidson School of Education (WDS) at the Jewish Theological Seminary advances the entire field of Jewish education, through academic training (MA and Ed.D programs) and instructional leadership programs.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to manage the office of the Davidson School and assist and support the dean and associate dean in their daily tasks in running a graduate school in Jewish education,  as well as faculty and students’ needs. The Office of the Davidson School interact with many JTS departments (inclusive of: communications; accounting; admissions; provost; development), and the ideal candidate will be able to liaise and work with key staff both in the office, as well as across the institution.

              

Duties/Responsibilities: Please list duties/responsibilities below.

 

  • Supporting Davidson School admission process from enrollment to graduation including creating files, sending letters and documents to student, and maintaining google drive, drop box and files on one drive
  • Outreach as needed to students, faculty, and educational leaders in the field to coordinate meetings
  • Maintain deans’ calendars and school calendars including creating meetings and posting of school events
  • Tracking spread sheets for budget, student course grids, and advisement
  • Produce and collect material for student orientation and faculty and students’ meetings with deans
  • Responsible to manage contracts and letters of agreement for student mentors, as well as vendors for the school
  • Maintain and post merit scholarship on the award system
  • Design and disseminate weekly student and alumni newsletters
  • Organizing and ordering supplies to support office and on-site academic and student programming
  • Working with a wide range of constituents across a University setting: students, faculty, deans, administration, and staff

 

Minimum Requirements: Please include degree requirements as well as years of experience.

 

  • Bachelors degree; master’s degree preferred
  • Excellent social skills; enjoys interacting with people in-person, as well as on phone, in email, and in zoom
  • Ability to facilitate technological support of zoom convenings, as needed
  • a strong office work background
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent excel skills including creating budget spread sheets and knowledge of formulas
  • Excellent social skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow up on tasks
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
